Have a music theme party at home or nearby park. Check with your local community center or library for recommendations on children's entertainers who can lead children in songs and musical instrument play.
Fun Invitations
Use a photo or drawing of musical instruments or a photo of your child "playing" his/her favorite musical toy. Or make invitation in the shape of large music note or written on the back of a photocopy of sheet music. Jokingly recommend that parents bring earplugs!
Fun Decorations
Decorate the party area with large muscial notes and bright balloons. Play fun music.
Fun Games & Activities
Have a variety of musical toys (xylophone, drum, maracas, tamborines, etc.) for children to play with. If you budget allows, hire a children's entertainer to lead children in musical play. If not, teach the hokey pokey! Have a musical parade around the block.
Fun Foods
Serve cheese and crackers, pretzels, seedless grapes (quartered) and strawberries. Buy and icecream cake or make a drum layer cake
Fun Favors
Give guests a CD of children's music or a tamborine, kazoo, or maracas.
